The marquee AL bats lit up the Target Field scoreboard early, but most of the MLB All-Stars struggled at the plate throughout the night. I’m still baffled that Derek Jeter was not named the game’s Most Valuable Player. Making his farewell appearance in the Midsummer Classic, Jeter scored the first run of the evening and batted a perfect 2 for 2 on the night. I believe an opportunity was missed to honor the retiring Yankee veteran with yet another well deserved trophy.
How did Derek Jeter’s performance grade out compared to that of the game’s MVP Mike Trout?

Here’s something on my wishlist: Check out the bracket I’ve devised for the Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament. It’s loaded with improvements over the existing tourney format… more weekend games and fewer rematches just to name a couple.
There are three pages in the following attachment. The first page is the proposed bracket using the 2014 tournament seeding. The second page contains the actual results from this year in the existing format. The final page highlights some of the advantages of the proposed bracket over the current format.
